Yoga in the Garden

Tish Ganey, Registered Yoga Teacher and owner of Take Me To The River Yoga Studio invites you to a 30-minute session at the community garden on Saturdays, 8:30 to 9:00 am. This is an excellent introduction to yoga’s benefits to both mind and body…

Tish will take you through a basic routine of standing poses, teaching and training. No mats are required, but shoes (any kind) are recommended.

Her Yoga In The Garden begins March 3, and she returns March 24 and 31. Tish is reaching out to other local yogis to cover March 10 and 17, so it’s hoped that a yoga in the garden experience can soon become a regular part of your week.

Her certifications and professional experience teaching yoga is extensive, so we think you’ll find these Saturday sessions to be wonderfully rewarding. Each class is offered on a donation basis, with the proceeds supporting continuation of the Seminole Heights Community Garden.

See you bright and early, Saturday March 3!

Join us for Brunch in the Garden

It’s time to put down our tools and enjoy our new space.

Please join us 10am – 12pm on Saturday February 17th at 6114 River Terrace.  Bring a dish to share, and BYOP – bring your own plate, utensils and glass or water bottle. In the effort to be more sustainable we ask that everyone take out of the garden what they bring in, so come prepared!

See you at brunch next weekend!

Yard Sale!

yard sale sign4

The OSHNA Great Neighborhood Yard Sale happens this weekend and the Garden is joining in the fun.

  • Where: 311 W Henry, corner of Ola
  • When: Saturday, October 14
  • Time: 7am – 1pm

Come by on the day of the sale… who knows what treasures you’ll find. Bring your rich friends, too… we need their money!

As a special community service of sorts, the Garden will feature an Abundance table at the sale with stuff that’s simply free for the taking. Ultimately, it’s our hope that the Abundance Table might dole out a little help to someone who can really use it.

We hope to see you Saturday morning!

Help us Celebrate our Birthday!

Earth DayJoin us on Earth Day, April 22nd, as we host our open house and birthday celebration. If you haven’t been by lately, come take a tour before the garden goes (mostly) dormant for the summer. We’ll be open starting at 10am and will give out little seedlings as long as they last. It’s our birthday gift to you, our community.

We hope to see you then!

Painting in the Garden with Lib!

Sunday, January 31st, 2:00pm – 5:00 pm

Our very own artistic Lib is bringing back her awesome painting parties. We especially love children at these events because their art brings such an awesome dynamic to our garden. Just be sure to bring a smock or dress them in clothes that can be painted. Bring snack to share, painting clothes, brush and paint if you wish (we will have brushes and paints to share too).

Adult painters welcomed to be examples for kids. We can paint stones, bricks, buckets or anything at all, but the palms are fun to make garden spirits.

We need palm frond heels (the naked ones pictured below). If you have them, please drop them off at the garden by January 30th.

Free but donations happily accepted. Everyone welcome!
