We have scheduled our holiday mixer! Check out the flyer on our events page and join us at the Mermaid for food, drinks and lot so laughter as we celebrate our year at the gardens. We hope to see you all there!
Thanks to Denise and all of those who donated items to our garage sale fundraiser. We were able to raise another $175 for the garden. Every little bit helps so we appreciate it!
We are planning a garden breakfast which will be our usual potluck style affair. We will have an art project for the kids courtesy of the Libster. If you would like to bring a dish, drink or utensils please let us know so we can coordinate and ensure we have a variety of delectables to choose from.
Today we lost our beloved hen Curtis. We discovered an animal breeched the cage and took her from us. We returned her body to the earth and removed Bella until we can build her a safer coup. For those of you who never met Curtis, she was a feisty hen that made her way to our garden through Denise Moore and Alex Spassoff. She showed up one day at Denise and Alex’s office and they took her in off the street. The members of the garden gave her a good home and forgave her for her sometimes bloody love pecks. Rest in peace Curtis. You will be missed.
Please join us to hear the very exciting news about the garden. This is an opportunity to learn about how the garden is growing as well as become the first members at the new garden on Highland. We have some special announcements that you will only hear at this meeting. We look forward to seeing you!
We are extremely pleased to announce that our fundraiser on July 26th has sold out. We are so appreciative of everyone’s support. There will be incredible food, fabulous art and great conversation. Proceeds from purchased artwork will benefit our garden. We can’t wait to see you there!
We are planning to have a rain barrel workshop in August and we are looking to hear from you! Please contact us if you are interested in attending and tell us which date would work better for you. We have two dates in mind: August 2nd or August 23rd. The workshop will be conducted by the Hillsborough County Extension Service at the 6011 Highland Avenue garden location.
